| Requirements |
| Application Fee | $50 US dollars (50% of the application fee will be refunded to you if your application is not accepted.) |
| Age | no limit |
| Length of study | 1 year minimum, 3 years maximum |
| Application Deadlines | Study is semester based:
the Autumn Semester from the beginning of September to the beginning of January,
and the Spring Semester starting from the end of February to the end of June.
The deadline for all majors (except for acrobatics) is one month before the semester starts.
So, the deadline of application for Autumn Semester is the end of July,
and that for Spring Semester is the end of January. However, there is no deadline for acrobatics major,
because we believe some of the applicants might need to finish up a show, tour or event before enrolling at school.
|
| Experience |
Experiences in the prospective major of study are not required during
the application process. Some applicants jumped track, like from a dancer's
background and apply to the acrobatics study. Some studied Yoga and want
to learn Chinese Kongfu. Some do not have any related experience at all.
The School accepts both starters and experienced applicants. However, the
level of your skills will be a positive and important factor for the School
to configure a specific combination of programs most suitable for you. Some
courses for advanced learners are not the best for beginners, and some of
our beginners courses are not sufficient for advanced students. You providing
such information will help us know how to provide the coming education best
for you. |

admission
Each year, we plan to accept about 50 students
in acrobatics, 30 in kongfu, and 36 in dancing.
visa
After you are admitted, you can always apply, without supporting paperwork, for a temporary visitor visa valid for 3 months. Then the School will sponsor a status transfer from visitor to student after you arrive at the School. This would be helpful in the situation where there is less than 1 month's time between the time of admission and enrollment. It is also a good option if you are visiting China for the first time and do not know where to start. Visitor's visa is very easy to get and the procedure is simple. It will save a lot of time if you arrive at the School with a visitor's visa and let the School take care of the paperwork/documents for transferring the visa to a student's visa.
If you have enough time between admission and enrollment, you can also apply for a student visa by yourself. The application could be filed at a local Chinese Embassy or Consulate, and is usually get approved with the documents prepared by the School, including the JW 202 Form and Admission letters. You need to present your Physical Examination Record; please check with the Chinese Embassy or Consulate regarding the requirements on the Physical Examination Record; The cost of the exam varies, depending on the type of medical insurance you have. If you choose to go to school under a student visa, please have the following items prepared when enrolling: passport, at least 6 passport-sized photos, admission letters, photocopy of JW202 Form, and the physical exam record.

Legal Guardian
If the student is under 18 years old, you need a legal guardian in Beijing if parents are not coming with you.
Finding a legal guardian is necessary for overseas studies,
no matter which country to go to. In this case, each international student younger than 18
studying at Beijing International Art School has a guardian. Usually, it is a
person from the same home country, who is working or studying in Beijing.
You can try to find a guardian by yourself, with the helps from the embassy of your country
or such kind of government services.
The School can also look for a legal guardian suitable for you. The guardian will
provide helps when you have needs, and will commonly require some financial
reimbursement, usually $80 - $150 per month, depending on the individual.
After the prospective guardian talk with your parents, the two
sides could go ahead with a personal mutual agreement on the amount. It is
also possible that the guardian do not require the reimbursement for helping
somebody from his/her own country.
Here two samples:
1. Parents' Letter of Entrustment to the Guardian
2. Guardian's Letter of Guarantee

money and efforts upon the first arrival in Beijing. After the custom claims,
you just follow other passengers. When you see a crowd of people waiting for
their guests to come out, you will see a sign that reads "Beijing International

not need the pick-up service.
