VISA
After you are admitted, you can always apply, without supporting paperwork, for a temporary visitor visa valid for 3 months. Then the School will sponsor a status transfer from visitor to student after you arrive at the School. This would be helpful in the situation where there is less than 1 month's time between the time of admission and enrollment. It is also a good option if you are visiting China for the first time and do not know where to start. Visitor's visa is very easy to get and the procedure is simple. It will save a lot of time if you arrive at the School with a visitor's visa and let the School take care of the paperwork/documents for transferring the visa to a student's visa.
If you have enough time between admission and enrollment, you can also apply for a student visa by yourself. The application could be filed at a local Chinese Embassy or Consulate, and is usually get approved with the documents prepared by the School, including the JW 202 Form and Admission letters. You need to present your Physical Examination Record; please check with the Chinese Embassy or Consulate regarding the requirements on the Physical Examination Record; The cost of the exam varies, depending on the type of medical insurance you have. If you choose to go to school under a student visa, please have the following items prepared when enrolling: passport, at least 6 passport-sized photos, admission letters, photocopy of JW202 Form, and the physical exam record.
